Tours
The Railroad Heritage Exhibits represent a nontraditional
approach to interpretation. Period buildings serve as exhibit cases
that put a face on Sedalia's history and heart. Each building (water
tower, rail worker's house, rail boss's house, commercial/business
district, the shops, school, church, and a passenger and freight depots)
contain graphic panels and artifact ‘windows’ that tell
the story of the railroads influence upon Sedalia. The exhibit also
includes a working telegraph, audio visual presentation, youth activity
room, and panels which help visitors learn about the Katy Depot Historic
Site.
Group Tours
Guided Group Tours are available year-round.
A $50 minimum or $1 per person fee applies. Reservations are required. Guided school tours are available at no charge. Reservations are required three (3) weeks in advance.
Tours are scheduled between 9:30 and 3:00 p.m.
Average tours last about 1 hour, but tour length can
be accommodated to suit the needs of your group.
Ample parking is available at the Katy Depot for cars
and buses.
The Katy Depot is handicapped accessible.
